Welcome back, UNI Honors Alumni!

This is a place for our alumni to stay connected to our program. We provide semi-annual e-newsletter updates featuring information about our current students and faculty as well as alumni profiles. In order to receive a copy of the e-newsletter, please update your contact information and tell us what you have been up to.

Congratulations to our 2020 Honors Program alumni!

With the unfortunate cancellation of this year's honors graduation celebration, we moved to virtual recognition for our graduating honors seniors.  The University Honors Program teamed up with the Honors Student Advisory Board (HSAB) to facilitate the first ever Outstanding Honors Student Awards for graduating seniors who have gone above and beyond to demonstrate what it means to be a member of our program.  Included below are the four graduating seniors that were selected to receive an award:

   Anya Shorey, ‘20

Bachelor of Arts in psychology and general music studies

Plans to pursue a PhD in experimental psychology with an emphasis in vision and hearing sciences from the University of Louisville

   Clari Bruns, ‘20

Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in chemistry

Plans to pursue a Master of Science in biology at UNI while shifting her research to study plant ecology and genetics

   Isaac Smith, ‘20

Bachelor of Music in composition and theory

Plans to pursue a Master of Music in music composition at the University of Louisville

    Jacob Haag, ‘20

Bachelor of Arts in economics with an emphasis in business

Plans to pursue a Master of Health Administration degree at the University of Minnesota

Help support the Honors Program

Alumni now have the opportunity to help support the program through two Honors Scholarship Opportunities.

We are pleased to announce that in the fall of 2016 the Honors Alumni Scholarship reached an exciting milestone, becoming fully endowed at the $30,000 level! The fund was initiated by Matt Bries ('09) with additional leadership gifts by Rakshith Varadaraju ('08) and Tim McCue ('07). Now that it is endowed, the income on the fund makes it possible to award a $1000 scholarship to an active and involved University Honors Program student each year! Learn more...

The Honors Opportunities Fund gives the University Honors Program the flexibility to direct funds to areas where resources might otherwise be limited. These funds are used primarily to enhance student opportunities and programs. The Honors Opportunities Fund can be used for supplies and equipment for student research, travel for students to conferences, and honoraria and travel support to bring national and international experts to UNI to visit with our students and faculty.
