Peer Leaders

The Honors Peer Program was created to assist incoming first-year students throughout their first semester at the University of Northern Iowa through providing a community of peers and dedicated leaders committed to their academic and social success. Peer Leaders attend a spring training session, meet their groups during the Peer Program Social in the fall, attend the Honors Fall Picnic, and organize a collaborative event with their Peer Leader partner.

Peer Program Social

"My favorite part was being able to get to know other people in the Honors Program (including the other leaders) and being able to help and interact with new freshmen" --Previous Peer Leader

"My favorite part of being a peer leader was being able to give advice to new honors students and reassure them about their concerns. Also, I think it is fun to meet new people that you will most likely see around campus again." -- Previous Peer Leader
